Transition to Kindy

"We are so grateful for the social story that was created for our son ahead of his Year 6 dinner. It helped him visualise what to expect, understand the situations that may arise, and gave him practical ways to manage his anxiety. Most importantly, it gave him the confidence to face his fears. The night was a huge success and he had a wonderful time with his friends. As Aiden said,

'It made me feel like I could do it and because it was in the style of Battlefield gaming I could understand it and use it super easy.'

"Katie created a personalised social story for my autistic son, Koen, to prepare him for his Kindergarten Orientation. He was very anxious because he didn’t know what to expect, but the story helped him understand exactly what would happen in a way that felt safe and reassuring.

Katie also provided a printable PDF, which Koen proudly took to preschool. His teachers loved it so much they read it to the other children attending orientation.
