Because there is a better way.

Our Purpose
Our purpose is to make everyday life easier for neurodivergent children — and for the adults supporting them.
Too often, inclusion relies on parents and educators carrying more than they should. Families are expected to advocate constantly. Educators are expected to adapt, plan, and support complex needs with limited time and resources. Everyone is doing their best — and still ending up exhausted.
By Mineself Collective exists to change that.
My purpose is to bridge the gap between children, families, therapists and schools by creating practical, respectful supports that actually work in real life. Supports that reduce overwhelm, protect dignity, and build confidence — not just for children, but for the adults walking alongside them.
I believe children shouldn’t have to struggle to fit systems that weren’t designed for them. I believe parents shouldn’t have to fight to be heard. And I believe educators deserve tools and collaboration, not more pressure.
At the heart of my work is a commitment to:
-
supporting smooth, predictable transitions
-
reducing burnout for families and educators
-
providing executive functioning supports without shame
-
building independence in ways that feel achievable and affirming
Everything I do is guided by one simple goal: to create environments where children feel understood, capable, and supported — and where parents and educators feel less alone in the process.
Empathy first. Belief always. Support that empowers.
Why "By Mineself?"

Katie Crabtree
Founder I Education Specialist
By Mineself comes from my own children — from those early, determined words spoken with pride after hard-won moments of independence. It represents everything I believe about support: that independence looks different for every child, that dignity matters, and that support should empower, not embarrass.
I know how big changes in routine feel — starting school, changing classes, special events, holidays, even things that are meant to be “fun.” I know how a break can become more work than staying home, once you’ve planned the transitions, adjusted the visual schedule, created a social story to match the itinerary, and supported everyone’s nervous systems. It’s exhausting — and it so often falls quietly on parents to hold it all together. I’m an inclusive educator, disability support specialist, and a neurodivergent parent, and I’ve felt burnout from both sides — as a parent and as an educator. I understand the gaps in systems, the frustration when things don’t work for children who don’t fit neatly into a box, and the unseen labour it takes just to create the resources and supports required for a child to be included in everyday school life. And trust me — you are not the only one who dreads another mufti day or book character parade.

By Mineself Collective isn’t about doing things alone; it’s about having the right support so independence becomes possible.
